Thanks for the advice, Victor_V. I definitely noticed that front to back surge. It had me on edge because the trailer kept wanting to move backwards and some idiot four wheeler was always on my rear end. Every time I started forward, I had to treat it as although I was on a hill to keep from hitting the car behind me. Like you said, I think I'm in over my head.
Plus the loading/unloading is time sensitive. My backing still needs work and I understand that loaders/unloaders can't wait 45 minutes for me to get backed in properly because they got other stuff to do.
Can my DAC report be damaged if I quit during my training phase?

Foodliner might cut some slack with experience since you're already working tanker. Prime has a few food grade terminals. Try Foodliner website.

Yes,
they can hit your DAC report.
Leave on the best terms possible. -
Update: I turned in my hazmat ppe and spoke with the terminal manager. No harm, no foul. Looking forward to my first and last paycheck minus their "administrative" and "processing" fees for quitting within the first 90 days of employment. I'm not upset about that, after all the company did spend money on me by putting me up in a hotel, buying me lunch everyday, and reimbursing my fuel costs for travel.

Backing experience will come with time. If ever unsure whats behind you set the brakes and get out and look, dont let anyone rush you. I think your explanation sounds very reasonable. I always hated having to put on all that ppe and stand out in all kinds of weather loading/offloading product. Dry Van or maybe doubles with a good line haul company. All the best.
madagascar Thanks this.
