that job only paid $14.50 exactly $1.00 less then i make now. some people criticized me for doing dump truck for $15.50, but you suggest i take a job doing "heavy haul" at $1 less per hour. BTW no smoking or vaping in the trucks. on that one trip on the way to niagara falls i had to listen to him ask me why i still vape. its my choice and has no effect on my job performance. im not going through that again. every other company i worked for so far in trucking could care less about it. hell it doesnt even make the truck stink, the odor goes away immediately so you cant say its like cigarettes that leave a permanent mess in the truck including a rotten foul odor.
can my employer force me to pay for mudflaps?

look at this way they guy asked me what i made now, he couldn't even make an effort to match the pay, not very hard as $15.50 isnt exactly allot of money for a CDL holder

Hey there ad356- good news your boss paid for the flaps-see- he isnt as big a penus as you thought. You know how to drive a truck-affirmed-chances are your not going to make a killing w/a class b lisc.
Get a class a.
In the meantime-why dont you learn how to operate equiptment.Even where your at-tell bossman youd rather operate equiptment-the paver, roller. If he doesnt need that-go elsewhere-learn how to operate a backhoe-trachoe-small dozer, etc. You dont need a special lisc-your home every night n your not class b ing around, never making more than 15$ an hour.
Once you get good at understanding/operating equiptment, youll be valuable n be worth more money. Then w/a class a-you could be top man-delivering the equiptment n operating it.Now your talking money.
Might be worth a shot-it'll get you off the road for awhile(might make you happier?). -

i already have a class A, and i have noticed im not the only one driving dump truck. when i pick up at the blacktop plant i get to talk to the other drivers if i have to wait to load. most of these guys in dump trucks have class A licenses. most of them do it because a dump truck doesnt have a sleeper, they go home at night.
the reason i took this job was mostly because 1. he was willing to hire me with only 7 months of MVR 2. he told me it was full time hours, if i was getting the hours it wouldnt be so bad but the weather has put a serous damper on it. i worked 2 days this week. he told me what i wanted to hear to fill a seat. he also told me that the job would be primarily class B but some class A. he does indeed have class A trucks, but drivers are already assigned to those trucks. one of those drivers is his son, another driver has been there 22 years (he is not going anywhere), and the other guy has been about 3 years. they haul flowboy trailers. the only way im going to get into a class A with this company is if someone quits, looses their medical or gets fired.
on occasion i have driven a dump truck with an equipment trailer which i guess is a form of class A.
