I recently got my CDL, and am training with a company I will choose not to name at this time. I attended orientation 2 weeks ago, and since then have only gotten in a grand total of 2 days of training. I have had to transport myself across multiple states trying to meet up with another trainer, and plans have been messed up again. I am currently sitting in a hotel waiting to figure out WTF is going on. This is the most disorganized mess I have ever been involved with.
My question is, if I was to quit this company during training to seek a different job, what would be the consequences affecting my DAC? Would companies be leery of hiring me, or if I was to explain the situation, would most of them be understanding? Are trainees expected to give 2 weeks, even though doing so would most likely result in me being dropped immediately anyway? If I was to inform them I was going to leave, could I expect to be dropped at a truck stop or somewhere else with no way home?
Thanks.
Can quitting during training ruin your DAC (and other questions)?

Why dont you mention the company, and I'm assuming if you have no contracts. Then you should be able to tell the company that you would like to at least put a two weeks notice in or part ways. talk to your Department manager before just walking away. Do it professionally and in a nice manner and you will be treated with respect. Walk away and disappear and they could leave something on your DAC that just might not so true or right.

sounds like you're already left somewhere with no way home. since your sitting in a motel being bounced around for a trainer. i don't see how your dac can get messed with. you haven't officially started training yet or even earned a payday.

Hey man, I'm really sorry to hear about what you're going through. The whole situation sounds like a real mess. You haven't even drawn a paycheck yet. I wouldn't worry too much about anything on your dac. Cut your losses, unless they can resolve the matter quickly, and move on. You will have an opportunity to in detail what happened to you with the next company.

DAC or not my priority would be to make a dissension fast either put up with the mess I'm in or move on to the next job and quickly training and signing up with a new company takes the wind out of your financial life and the companies know it so give your self a chance if you can hang in there.just so you wouldn't end up broke and looking for a ride home
If they are Really Bad why the Heck didn't you do your due diligence?
Ask the new trainer what is going on before quitting.
If anything you need your first few months of driving so the next job would be a little easier to get

I wouldn't quit, dude. It will go on your DAC as you quitting after just two weeks. It makes you look like you just duck and run at the first sign of something not going your way. Give it another month or two and if things are still a cluster f, then I would quit. I know I wouldn't want to hire someone that just quit somewhere else after just two weeks.

I dropped usa like a bad habit 3 weeks into training. Was a hotel in Vandalia and got a cab to the greyhound station and went home. I now have received 7 emails and dozens of calls asking me to come back

Your best bet is probably staying where you are. For one, there's a good chance anywhere else you go you'll end up in a similar situation. It seems actually getting on to a trainer's truck is the hardest part. Many people here have posted about jumping around and a lot of sitting around to first get started. Second, by the time you switch jobs and get going again you would of most likely already been making some money where you are now.
Crap gets screwed up sometimes and you just have to roll with it.
As for DAC and all of that, it may go on it, but you wouldn't be the first and many have found a job right after jumping ship early.ethos Thanks this.
