I recap all the time. Its how I learned to do it when I trained back in 1998. When I run low on hours, I tell dispatch to give me a slow run so I can gain hours. I much rather save resets for hometime if at all possible. Last time out, I ran from the 5th to the 19th without a reset. The way my day went, I had one or two hard running days with days not putting more than 7 or 8 hrs in. When it works out that way, use it to your advantage.

I know how to recap, and how to keep hours for mananna, I just keep being told that you have to do that 34 hour reset thing, which i didn't believe..... as long as you had available hours... in the olden days , we always kept a recap cause dot looked at that and if it was ok they would kick ya loose.

We worked on log books today and now I have a better understanding of the whole process.

It is when a tire is pretty worn out and they add some new rubber. Don't use on your steers.

Hire on to Werner, Swift, Knight and any of the other companies that couldn't figure it out either and now push and use e-logs. Then you won't have to worry about it.
