I've only downloaded videos from cam just to see the quality. The quality was great. I have mine on a 3 min loop. You can manually lock videos to save or it will lock automatically if G sensor is tripped.

Also the diesel boss system I think is like $1500-$2500. Rip off. Actually I want to get my own mobile dvr and buy the cameras separate and build my own 4 cam system. Just can't figure out the software portion just yet, but I'm working on it

Hmm. "The DieselBoss system..." $89.99 for a single cam (which is the type that most replies in this thread are referring to, including the one that mentioned DieselBoss.) And that includes a 32 GB high-speed storage card. $110 bucks for a dual cam SD card version.

For posterity sake, you COULDN'T reach $2500 in hardware from us if you tried (for one truck.) You could reach $1500, but only if you went super-sized with a 1 terabyte solid-state Samsung storage drive, 4 cameras, wireless, about 100 feet of industrial gauge wires, and a 9" jumbo monitor. And most people don't need to record a month of video and therefore usually go with 250 - 500 GB drives and a 7" monitor typically. So about $1000 - $1100, all-in.

A "dash cam" and a 4-Cam solid-state DVR are two different animals entirely. Just keeping the ship upright here. Respectfully.

I just looked up the Diesel Boss 4 camera unit. The SD version is right at $1000 for 4 cameras, DVR, monitor, wiring all set up and confirmed to work together successfully as a system. At that price the recording loop is about 4 days then it overwrites the older files. If your looking for a professionally put together 4 camera system with DVR for all 4 cameras this actually seems like a fairly reasonable price.

EDITED TO ADD: Well, looks like while I was typing this the guys over at Diesel Boss were also typing up a response. Beat me by 4 whole minutes....lol..

About 4 yrs ago I bought 2 DB4 dash cams from Dieselboss, one for me the other for the wife. She had quite a few problems with her's but also had trucks with lots of electrical glitches.Mine has had very few problems that a reset wouldn't cure. Two yrs ago I had to quit working due to back problems so I mounted my dash cam on my front window at the house to monitor my driveway and front entrance and it is still going strong today. She had to buy a new one and went with a Garmin 35 and is having problems with it now but she has never updated the firmware and maybe after she does that it may rectify her issues.
