Love it when the average guy compares himself to a business that offers warranties etc.
Anyone who is building a glider that puts an unknown motor in it, with those miles, without doing at least an inframe, is a special kind of trucker indeed.
And the advertised price is just that. I bought a motor 2yrs ago, for $1500 less than advertised price, with no core charge.
A tire dealer will pay $3000 for a set of used tires? Who is that then, I need to call them I guess and get in on some of that.
Used trucks are used trucks, regardless of what you think they should be worth parted out. Go spend $5k on the stuff needed to part a rig out, then try to make money within a couple of months. Not going to happen.
Glad you sold your truck, but please dont compare a single transaction with the rule of thumb. Two different animals.

I have made Millions over the years buying my trucks with cash.Everyone of them had 800,000 or more..I have paid from 3k-10k for my trucks over the years...

The WORST INVESTMENT anyone could get into,is buying a Semi with a payment and HIGH Interest...IMO...

Havent we all.....Unfortunately reality gets in the way, and that gross income means absolutely nothing to your net profit. When I had a 4 axle, I made MILLIONS.....Just didn't get to keep the vast majority of it:biggrin_2559:.
So, to be back on topic, you are saying the OP's truck is worth @$10k then?

With that mileage I wouldn't sell it under 23k

I been looking for 3 months and I know what they are going for.
With 6 nz don't sell under 23 ..25 is still fair

Your perceptions are off...We all make a ''million'' in a lifetime. That is if people are working people..And no i am not saying his truck is worth 10,000...Tops it is worth 15,000...

My ''repairs'' are no more or less than a guy with a ''new'' truck...Last year my repairs were 4,000.The year before was 5,000 and the year before was 4,900...

New vs Kinda new vs old is different for everyone.
Some buy new(er) for tax reasons etc, as well as peace of mind of the warranty.
Normally, if you buy a brand new rig, there is zero maintenance costs besides PM's for maybe 2yrs.
I normally pay @$3000 a year in PM's alone, but I guess I do them more often than others by the sound of it.
