It might be a worthwhile pursuit -- if said DUI is more than 10 years old.

A better plan -- get the CDL in another state besides CA.

Felony DWI in Texas means you have at least three convictions, or you were driving intoxicated with a minor at the time. Do us all a favor and start riding the bus.

You can get the license. Getting a job will be the difficult part. Felony DUI's in Texas usually mean you had more than one dui/dwi or there was an injury or child was involved.

You can get a CDL. You might not get a decent job.
You can probably get a job doing seasonal agriculture work or maybe driving a dirt truck for a third level company. The jobs won't pay much and they won't last long and in a lot of cases your check will be short. Complain about it and you're back out in the street.
Insurance companies usually call the shots on who can be employed for decent jobs. Most of them don't like to insure felony drunk drivers. Too much risk.

Sure you can but the record of your DUI is national when it comes to insurance and they are the one thing that has a final word on if you even get hired.

My advice is to "go for it" and give it your best shot. If I had listened to others in 2003 when I asked about truck driving I would have never even tried because I had 3 prior DUIs, although granted, none were felonious but still.

I drove OTR for 19 years and made great money pulling predominately a flatbed trailer. If concerned, consider calling as many trucking companies as possible and explain your concerns to them.

    You mean DWI?

In Texas, DUIs cannot be given to adults. Only minors.
