Also calling my dm is like calling satans wife during hell week ..but I did and just got a bunch of I dont knows so whats and one who cares -
Bearing in mind that the truck you drive belongs to Swift, and Swift is the company that pays you for your work.....they can pretty much demand you do any job that is legal, including running a dedicated account.
If you are serious about getting off the dedicated account, call your fleet manager and TALK to him/her. See if you can't convince him/her that you really really want off the account.jbatmick and koncrete cowboy Thank this. -
If it pays more dedicated do it
koncrete cowboy Thanks this. -
Is the account so bad? I ran a dedicated account with Werner back in the day, and made some pretty decent money at it.koncrete cowboy Thanks this. -
Depends on your company's dispatch policy...if they don't have enough dedicated drivers to cover the loads, its common for otr drivers to cover them until they do. Sounds like something you have to discuss with first, your fleet manager and then if that doesn't work go over their head to division manager. Why would you ignore a ppn that would have gotten you someplace else? Sounds like you need to get away from that Wal-mart DC instead if sitting near it!

Here's alittle advice,NEVER volunteer because their one day ends up to be permanent.Werner tried pulling that on me many times and I always said no.Swift can't fire you for this but they're not going to get you off this account until you pester and pester them daily.Sooner or later they'll give in.

Its a preference really....I. just like to get a load and go and not have to worry about nothin for three of four days at a time..

Find a good coast-to-coast company and change jobs.
Dedicated accounts aren't for everyone; some love it and some hate it.
I got stuck on a K-Mart account and the routine & silly store managers drove me crazy.koncrete cowboy Thanks this.
