Can the "normal-Ch.9" switch be changed to "normal-a different channel"?

I have a Uniden PC68XL and I was wondering if I can do a modification to the "normal-ch. 9" switch and have it do "normal-a different channel (such as 30)"?

    Thanks in advance,
    Duke

What a great question! (For a change, HAHA) I would love to know this too. I would suspect that SOMEHOW it could. However I also suspect it might be a headache to do it.

Major, major modifications would have to be done in order for that switch to go to another channel, instead of 9. By the time it was all said and done (if it even could be), your pockets would be empty, lol.

Out of all the techs I know, I've never known of any of them being able to accomplish this.

Now, I got a Magnum 257 in another vehicle, and it has a great feature called LCR. It's "Las Channel Recall" and if I wanna switch between 30 and 19, I can.

When you factor in the vast majority of "Shops" have "Bench Techs"
and not Certified "Service Techs" many simple tasks or mods become difficult.
I have an old Cobra 29 I paid $50 for thats Ch80 modded on the Ch9 switch,it cost me $30.00 on top of the $40 for the bench check/peak&tune and $10 for a used RK 56.
$100 for a solid back up ain't bad.

it's not a hard switch, can't remember where I found it (online) but it's as simple as clipping a wire or something like that

Most techs have said it requires extensive work

I would think you have to get to a data line on the PLL to change that channel no reason to think you can't
