I have been working summers only for years. I find its the best work life balance for me since I like to work long hours for months but then go on long adventures for the rest of the year.
Anyone ever have that perfect summer trucking job that they miss?
Agriculture and road construction seem like the biggest ones.
What really interests me is jobs with housing in remote areas.
I am guessing there are more drivers here that live this sort of lifestyle than there used to be so hopefully this thread will be of use to someone
Thanks!
Can we have a summer jobs/seasonal trucking discussion thread?

No reason people can't post about their favorite summer gig company. But probably a thread for "discuss your favorite trucking company" forum.

Here's one to start with. A lot of college kids and retirees do this every year.

Most people prefer to do the opposite, work in the winter and have the summer off to do whatever you like since having winter off is grimm unless you like snowboarding do skiing.
I suppose it depends whether you like driving in winter weather or you figure you can just head for warmer weather and avoid winter all together, we called the guys that did that snowbirds because they always fled before winter
I worked a lot of jobs like that but it's been mostly winter driving jobs since that's when they need drivers the most after all the snowbirds leave. -
Any job along the shore in South Jersey. You’ll be busy June, July, August and half of September. Then you’ll be laid off the rest of the year.
