Nothing grinds my gears more than hearing anyone use the word "backhaul". A load is a load is load is a load. Time doesn't change, fuel doesn't change, nothing changes when using that word except the money someone wants to pay you.
Newbies, tell them you are looking for a load. Plain and simple.

so what would be a better name for a load to HAUL to get you BACK to where you started out that will not GRIND YOUR GEARS
mpow66m, Numb, Trucail and 1 other person Thank this. -
Backhaul to me has an implied weakness when negotiating a load. Whomever you are negotiating with knows that you 'want' to get back somewhere. That gives them an advantage.
Grumppy, heavyhaulerss and LGarrison Thank this. -
You do the hokey-pokey and turn yourself around, that's what its all about!
heavyhaulerss, DriverToBroker and dennisroc Thank this. -
And if your any kind of business man you realize that and do not bend over for the lower GET YOU HOME RATES , besides all they need to do is look at the name / address on the truck to realize where your likely hoping to head towards.
281ric Thanks this. -
Backhaul...backhaul...backhaul...backhaul.....
Western flyer, Tamiami, joseph1135 and 3 others Thank this. -
Eliminate the word backhaul and at least make them try and figure it out.

Can we eliminate the word backhaul ?
Uh ,...... NO
Are you cracking up or something -
What's wrong with BACKHAUL? I like the word BACKHAUL. It's not a bad word. Say you start in Caldwell, ID, empty in Walnut, CA, load in Vernon, CA for Boise, ID. That's your BACKHAUL.
FLATBED Thanks this.
