Can you carry a gun even with license in a cmv in texas

Ronin I will have to research this but I believe that ruling only applies to the commercial transportation of loaded firearms. not personal firearms. I have talked to several DOT officers in Oklahoma and none of them can tell me of any rule prohibiting me from carrying a firearm. Especially ccw by either state or federal law and stated I am ok as long as properly permitted

 

If stopped by dot and found you will be in trouble.

 

No you won't, as long as you have a concealed carry permit and it's honored by whatever state your in...

 

Show me the law, then. Back up your claim.

I conceal carry a firearm and I only drive in those states that honor my home states permit. I can carry in 33 states. I have been stopped by dot and been thru border patrol check points. In every case I told the officer I had a ccw and most didn't care the one that drew his attention. He talked guns with me during my 13 minute level 3 with no violations. In fact I never got any violations. You can carry legally! As long as you have a permit.

 

Hmm. It seems that it state regulated. sorry for my earlier post. When I trained for cdl, in my state, they said do not carry your fire arm its against the law. so I thought that meant every state. I did some checking on some federal websites this morning and they just say its governed at the state level.

Now I wonder if you can carry in my state...
