Hi Kendallware, welcome to the site. As you may see, you ruffled a couple feathers there, and rightly so, it's certainly an odd request. Depending what is powering the truck, anything can be done. I think it's cool, you want to combine 359 class with a more user friendly setup. Years ago, the 359 was the epitome of trucking. Some may have had automatics, I think Allison was the only one, with poor resultds, but it was a truckers truck, and automatics just didn't cut it then. I say, rather than trying to cobble an automatic into an old CAT or Cummins, the typical power then, just install a whole new modern motor and trans from a wreck, should be more than enough around, with DEF, as I think pre-emission trucks will soon be regulated like new ones, and just as well. Good luck, sorry about the naysayers, we're an opinionated bunch.

It is known in history books that Monfort of Colorado ran a few KW W900’s with Allison's behind early 3406 Cats back in the day. They were field testing lots of interesting stuff for Cat, Cummins, and all the transmission and diff makers back then. Would not be to far fetched to think they may have had one or two Petes with Allison’s.
