Can you convert a 359 to an automatic transmission?

I think there were O/Os that had Petes, no? I've seen LTL9000s too. Even one of them "Mormon" trucks and a White "Road Commode", but mostly KW. I don't see what's so unusual about wanting a 359 with an automatic. In fact, I bet there's a whole market of drivers that would love a 359 but need an automatic. I know, it goes agin everything we hold dear, but welcome to the 20s.

 

I’am 99% sure the only trucks Montfort of Colorado ever owned were the White Road commodes that they started out with and then they got traded for the KWs , Any thing else was O/O
To each his own opinion But my opinion on about 359s might be alittle different than others I have been around 359s since the early 80’s I have a lot of respect for those trucks .I’ve already voiced my point of view about putting a Auto in a 359 so I’ll stop. But in comparison it would like wanting to put a automatic in a Carroll Shelby GT 500 there’s just certain things you don’t F### with outa respect when your a man

I sure missed the 359 Corvette Dash. There was an episode on the Motor Trend channel of a car builder that had a customer come in and redo some things on a replica Shelby car. One thing that the car builder dislike of doing to it was, the customer wanted the manual transmission removed and replaced it with an automatic . He said it was a first and hopefully that last one he would do.

 

Funnily enough, the last generation of GT500's, with 700+hp supercharged engine? They have an automated manual in them! From the drivers seat they are all but indistinguishable from an automatic in normal operation.

 

I did not know that . That just proves your can learn something new everyday

 

Almost all of the high-performance cars have switched over to the dual clutch automated manuals.
