Yes night driving is the best. Although during the winter it can be a little sketch, not being able to see the ice as well

Does your Dad have a criminal record? Any felony and he will have to wait 5 to 7 years before getting hired.

The LED headlights are really annoying today. Not the one from the factory like Freightliner seem good. Lots of drivers with older truck upgrade to LED lights on a truck that never had it. They seem to be buying them off eBay. They are WAY to bright in my opinion. It looks like the beam is so wide it lights up everything. I have a 2020 Freightliner with factory LED headlights. Their lights are brighter then mine and shine all over the place. I have seen them on during the day time the aftermarket LED headlights are still bright. So the are as bright as sunlight. Then some drives are putting LED light bars on their trucks also.

As long as you make the appointment times you can drive whenever you like. Mostly that means you could have 20 minutes a day some office drone forgot to give away on your behalf

I like driving at night and if it’s possible I’ll flip my time to do it; but some loads don’t allow it. I’m also not always able to flip my sleep around. If I get tired, I take a nap. Having a 14 that ends early afternoon seems to help keep these cycles going because I can’t get dispatched on loads that pickup later.

You can drive fairly much when you like, you quickly learn how to adjust your running schedule to suit you. I like to run between 23:00 and 15:00, I try to stop by 15:00 or 16:00 that way its easy to park, I fuel when I get up, do my pre-trip on the fuel island where the best lights are, plus close to the oil or what ever I might need, and there is no one trying to push you out of the way, except the one guy who will pull up behind you with 8 or 9 other fuel islands open and ask how long ya gunna be.
I typically run 600 miles plus per day have not had a company give me a hard time on how I do it. The important things are don't miss your appointments, I tend to stop at receivers and shippers the night before deliveries when possible, that way I stay off duty for the delivery or pick. This is for me, Also try to put fuel stops with the required 30 minute break, also done off duty just make a note in the annotations fueled by fuel attendant. Dot likes notes true or not. If not show 5 minutes for fuel (when you strike the card is when it time stamps). then go off duty, you can pull slowly to a parking place without going on duty, just be smooth, a jerk may send it to on duty/drive line. Enough secrets

As much as I like driving at night and no matter how strong I am for it, my most dangerous time would be around 530 to 7 am. You will find me napping or breakfast.

The reason being the closer to sunrise the easier to recognize that I am very tired in that special way and if you push it it can stop your heart or something else. So USUALLY without fail I am doing one of the two at that hour.

IF I am lumping or otherwise engaged at that time period Ive already got my nap prior. And just long enough to eliminate that loss of energy inside the body and mind. Humans are not wired to run the night. Thats the time to bed. Or other things.
