Can you tell me if you can get your CDL if you have a prior conviction of transporting illegals in Texas? I can"t find the correct information.

How long ago was the conviction.
Apply to a school, either private or trucking company school and find out what the answer is.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Yes it is. A Human Trafficking conviction is now a disqualifying event.
Edit to add: Following President Trump’s signature of the “No Human Trafficking on Our Roads Act,” the FMCSA has issued this new rule to prohibit an individual from operating a CMV for life if that individual uses a CMV in committing a felony involving a severe form of human trafficking. The new rule revises the list of offenses permanently disqualifying individuals from operating a CMV for which a commercial driver’s license or a commercial learner’s permit is required. Do you know if this changed with the new laws that came out this year?
Thank you. -
Right now you can make about $50,000 a week trafficking people up from near the border. You don’t even have to go across the border. Just bring them further up into the US. However when you get caught, and you will get caught, the government will go through everything you own and take it all. You will be left with nothing and probably a 10 year prison sentence. You might get some quick change in your pocket, but you better spend it at the casino as fast as you get it because let me tell you something they will take it all. Not worth it!CassND, GYPSY65, N00bLaLoosh and 1 other person Thank this.

Government regulations can be a nightmare to decipher.
I'd go to a cdl school and ask.ahsmith0 Thanks this. -
I believe the ruling I referred to above mentioned sex trafficking, not necessarily human trafficking at the border. Someone who knows how to post links better than me will hopefully come along....

If worse comes to worse, you can get a non-cdl driving job.
That would be box trucks and some hotshot trucks.
