Some companies will hire you from a different region, then give you 30 days or some time to transfer your license to the new area after they hire.you.All companies have different policies.

That's a lot to research there! Thanks for giving me some stuff to look up, I appreciate all the help.

(And no, not military--just a 40-something switching careers. I realized I need to buy some house or place to be retired in and get it paid off quickly, otherwise I'm going to have a good deal of trouble by retirement age!)

I'd love to live somewhere with lots of trees, tired of the city life...

Yeah me too, We told the politicians not to California our Texas but they didn't listen, now Texas is aiming to be the next NYC, even got the Texas stock exchange going.. I'm tied here financially though as my home is paid off, no state income taxes for now..it's not what it used to be. I'll leave as soon as I'm able.

If you like running Pittsburgh and Chicago and regional. Lots of short runs kinda hard to get all the miles. Not sure about hiring into area. You would need some address. You could call and see what they say about that.

    Don't forget about Swift.
They have a terminal in Denver, run all 48, and you can change regions if you want.
