I was wondering if you could have the qualcomm e-log service as an independent owner operator? If so what is the cost roughly? I mainly would want e logs so that DOT will not harass me. Every time they see I have e logs they don't even bother checking.
Can you get qualcomm with elog service being an oo?

when I looked into it last summer, They were telling me $1800ish to install and $40.50 for monthly fees.
And it's not even going to be compliant with federal requirements.
I have since found out, installing this into the wiring on the truck screws things up more than anything. Causing drivability issues. -
Yes you can but why would you.....just use Driver's Daily Log. When the DOT asks for your logs you simply tell them hang on I will print them out.....most often when they see you are using computer logs they say never mind and move on to the next issue unless you give them a reason to think differently. Be aware you are still required to be able to provide copies of your current day in service as well as signed copies of your previous 7 days if asked. I don't use it but know many who do and I believe the cost is less than $125 to get started......I don't know if there is an annual charge or a charge for upgrades but it is certainly more affordable than a qualcomm unit and nothing is tied into your ECM.

Their software would NOT recognize the truck. We'd have to enter the serial number manually. Then it would give us a "no qualcomm found" error message.
Once we took ALL of the qualcomm wiring out of the vehicle, plugged it into the computer, no more ID issues. Hook up the computer, turn on the key, they would communicate immediately.
the "connector" that splices into the 9-pin connector for this seems to be the biggest thing that gives it fits. Often times breaking wires and causing issues.
It's not as benign as they'd like you to believe it is.25(2)+2 Thanks this. -

Think so?
I have read where it is every vehicle that uses logs.
