Today's truck tires are designed for a maximum of 75 mph and recaps are probably worse because they come apart even easier. Not very safe without a load and even dumber with a load on those tires at high speeds.

I dont even know how to respond to this. I believe people come on here sometimes to get a rise out of us.
Gonna call BS anyway, since most hills/passes have steep curves and whatnot. Doubt a semi could negotiate a turn at 100 mph..just wow

I80 in Nevada has a number of steep grades... straight from summit to bottom. There are idiots doing this all the time out there.

I'd say this is a driver with a Honda with a coffee can muffler that just learned to drive a truck. 18 wheelers aren't toys and one young person has to quickly determine this. Clutching or popping in neutral is considered not in control of the vehicle and can get you sent up the river if something happens. Over tach my engine and you are going back to Werner if they will take you. :)

I put a 150 MPH Corvette speedo in my 359. With both transmissions up against the dash, 3.55 rears, and 11R24.5 rubber, it will go well over 100 MPH. Not dumb enough go see exactly how fast, but I know 110 for sure.

Yea, there are a few hills around that you can top three digits, coming off of and it doesn't need to be from the summit to the bottom. From the last curve to the valley floor works, too. Been there, done that and not just in Nevada, when I was young and dumb.

Back in the 80s, there was a shop in the L.A. area that made custom speedometer heads. They made one for a friend of mine for 140 and dared him to break that one, like he did to their 120 heads. That was back in the days of Southern Shaker and the Good Time Gang, running across 40, 20 and 10.
Back then we thought we were immortal. We know better, now.
