Moving the fifth wheel,reacts opposite from the tandems,figure 500 lbs per notch.
To move weight to steers,slide the fifth wheel forward,moving trailer,closer to cab.
You'll need to be more carefull,jacking your truck,fairing damage becomes easier,the closer the trailer,gets to the cab.
Can you go over on drives if u have a APU?

Sliding fifth wheel is a pain,cranking 45000 pounds,off the kingpin,by moving the landing gear,then lower your air suspension.
I always lubricated my fifth wheel with soap and water,to facilitate easier movement.
I now just leave my fifth wheel,all the way forward,but again,be carefull jacking your truck.DustyRoad Thanks this. -

I wish mine was that close all the time. Pull a bulk tank. Usually about 12700 on the steers and anywhere from 5-1000 over on drives. Haven't had an issue yet. Still pray for them green lights though.
