Wal-Mart Will Punish Its Suppliers for Delivering Early

The last time I hauled a load for them was about four years ago. I was an hour early and they made me get off the property to wait. Then at the specified time I was given a door which I backed into. Then I waited six hours to start unloading, and another ten hours to get unloading finished. Piss on Walmart. You hold a grudge too long and things change with companies over time. My first observation from a business stand point is you showed up too early and expected to be taken care of. You are not the only trucker out there making delivers, so make them closer to scheduled time and you won't run into problems like you did. Second, there is always two sides of the coin. I'm pretty sure you after being told to come back you gave them an earful. That's poor customer service on your end if you did, and the end result was making you wait longer. If you can't deal with delays and scheduled times maybe think about trying a new profession. Last thing I want in the road is a disgruntled truck driver!

Walmart must be having far too many late loads.Far as arriving too early all Walmart dc"s have the same policies.Park somewhere close till its time to make your delivery.

Lately been having good experiences with wally world. My usual turn around time is 2-3 hrs. My last delivery was in Grandview, WA and called manager to see if I could deliver a day early. Got a 1900 apt that night. But I'm awesome and not like most of you people.

I've recently started seeing Landstar O/O's pulling Walmart trailers around DFW. Used to only be Swift/Werner trucks.

@J.Wick ... please put down that koolaid

Your attitude is the reason truckers get crapped on.

Why are you assuming that the OP's customer service skills were below par?

You seem to be the type that says ..."oh well, it's just trucking"...and the net effect of your attitude beings everyone down.

Walmart needs to step up their game, else Amazon & Costco will eat them alive. Walmart (Stores & DC's) have the worst customer service, but you are quick to blame a fellow trucker...smdh

If they are going to be sticklers for arriving within a tight window around your scheduled delivery time, WHY SHOULDN'T the driver also have the SAME expectation for expediency when he is there on time? It shouldn't take any longer to get you in & out than the window they give you to be there. If your appointment is at 1:00, and you're allowed 15 minutes on either side, then they ought to be able to get you unloaded within 30 minutes of bumping the dock. If they intend to hold you longer, they should be prepared to accept you earlier. Show up late and that's on you...they've moved on to the next truck who was there on time. Early (within reason) should NEVER be a problem...especially when you're talking only an hour or so. Hell, by the time you get turned around and roll out a mile or two to a truck stop, you have just enough time to turn right back around and roll back to arrive "on time" . That's a game I won't play. I'm here now. My appointment is in less than an hour. You can let me in now to wait, or I can wait here at the gate. If you expect me to haul your frieght around the block to kill 15 or 20 minutes, you can pay me for that service.

Nevermind sometimes the guard can only process 1 truck every 20 minutes so those 3 in front of you... then he tells you that you're late. Ya ok. Sign me up for more of that... not. Plenty of other decent customers.
