You all would be pretty amazed at what a pair of 30-40lb dumbbells and 20-30 minutes a day can net in results. You won't get Arnold ripped but you'll definitely have women checking you out ;)

Tons of body-weight exercises that will keep you in shape. Diet is the biggest factor in maintaining a healthy weight/figure. Eating right is the hardest thing to do on the road, but there are plenty of tricks and techniques out there to help.

Once you plateau with body-weight exercises, add a kettle bell.

Get a Planet Fitness membership. $19.95/month. You can use any location nationwide. Most of them are in shopping centers that can accommodate your truck, and are open 24/7. Bonus: They have showers.

You sound alot like I was when I first started trucking. Similar concerns. My advice: if you can do something else try that first, trucking will always be here for you if you fall.

Even with local, it isn't always easy fitting the gym into your schedule.

Anytime is better than planet fitness and most are in strip malls so you can park there.

Also you can take a shower after and kill two birds with one stone if you want.

Planet fitness doesn’t have squat racks. That’s not a real gym.

Learn how to drive a truck for a year or two then go local. Keep a KB and do body weight exercises and walk when OTR. It’s probably harder to find time to workout when your local. I usually do 14 hours a shift then be back in 10. I have a KB, barbell, trap bar, and stands at home. Knock out a 30-40 min abbreviated training workout (look up dinosaur training by Brooks Kubik) go to bed then do it all over again. Forget isolation exercises. Compound movements are everything you need. Once your local, squats, deadlifts, rows, overhead presses, bench press, and heavy curls are all you’ll need and have time for.

    #### that’s all you need to have a good time anyways.

    Compound> isolation

Bench, ohp and dips are going to do way more for triceps than some skull crushers for example.

Unless you’re hopping on stage for a body building show most people should be focusing on compounds.

I know there is a bunch of drivers at my gym. Mostly dump truck and I’m tanker. We don’t do otr but I still hit the gym when I was gone half the time.

About month ago I had delivery in Cincinnati OH, made it there at 7pm appointment for next morning. The closest truck stop 25 miles away. I bobtailed to nearest LA Fitness 3miles away had a nice shower there, stayed overnight at their parking lot grabbed a breakfast in the morning from McDonald's near by and went to do my delivery. And bit a morning traffic going into the city
