Can you keep a laptop charged and a fridge running with no APU or idle?

My current laptop requires more than the 150W from a 12V plug-in inverter, or I should say it would max it out. Not good for the inverter.

Swift has a limited idle ability as the trucks do idle in certain temp ranges. Many of the trucks have opti-idle, so if the battery gets too low the engine will start up to charge it up in those mid-temp ranges.
The trucks are now equipped with 2000W inverters and a fridge, so keeping cold (and some frozen) food and running appliances/computers is not a problem.

Swift might be considered a bottom feeder to many, but conditions in the truck have improved much over the years.

    Where is your location?
Are you attending a private or community college cdl school?

I haven't started yet, I've been looking at paid cdl training from several companies because I can't really afford my own schooling. Only problem is that from what I've read, most of those companies don't have APU's in their trucks and also don't allow idling if it's not too cold/hot outside.

I'm actually in Henderson as well, so if you know of a better option I'm all ears.

Look at Swift Refrigerated. From what Moosetek13 posted, the trucks have inverter and refrigerator. Swift has a limited idle ability as the trucks do idle in certain temp ranges. Many of the trucks have opti-idle, so if the battery gets too low the engine will start up to charge it up in those mid-temp ranges. Probably attend cdl school in Phoenix, AZ

I really can not remember my last 34.
I run recap hours and stay running between home times.
Running out of hours is not on my to-do list, so I manage my time to average my hours and stay running.
If I am short on hours for a day, the planner can find me something with enough time on it to let me work with the hours I have coming in.

My current truck has opti-idle, and as I said it will turn on the engine to recharge the batteries when they get low.
In my last truck I would tape my broomstick to the throttle and reach over every few minutes to blip it and keep it running to keep it charged up.
    There are work arounds.

All any of this stuff takes is a little planning.
    It isn't rocket science.

That statement/claim could be dissected in so many ways, couldn't it?
And in the end it all comes down to a few little things.

Which terminal you run out of, what the DM/FM expects/demands of you, what you are willing to do or demand on your end, what you actually need to make a living... maybe a few others.

That is why there is such a love/hate aspect to Swift, in my opinion.
Some of us seem to hook up with the worst aspect, while some of us seem to hook up with the best.

I don't know why you think most companies don't have APUs. There's plenty of good Megas with them in the truck. Work for one of those.

Most switched to opti-idle. Even Melton Truck Lines switched to opti-idle.
