Hey guys, Akus in here. I've posted a couple of thing in the past. Not a trucker yet, still toying around with it. Please no flaming.
From the joke of a trucking school I used to go to, I know that we cannot be on the road more then 11 hours. Does that mean that we can drive eleven hours in a row? Forget the practical feasibility of this or body's ability to sit and watch the road for that long. I am talking strictly about the letter of the law.
Thanks everyone.
Can you, legally, drive 11 hours in a row.

How big is your bladder?........
-
I drive non stop 11 hours every day
at least that's what my log book says. unless i'm loading or unloading -
I have done 10.25 straight, but only because I had to because another driver was late with a t-call, I had a slow truck, and at that time I cared about service. Now? not so much
-
I have driven 11 hours straight. Let me tell you, I was stiff when I got out of the truck.
Most of the time, I limit it to 7 or 8 hours. -
Letter of the law - yes
practical feasibility - no.
I am not saying some of us (or most of us even) haven't done long stretches, but thats a hell of a day to try and run. -
eleven hours easy stopping stinks its that 12th to 14th hour that gets me. lol
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
But you will tear the hell out of your body if you do this on a regular basis. I know that we will have some BBR come on here and say "I do this all the time, it's no problem." He/she/it will NOT be driving after a few years if he/she/it does this all the time.
It's not just a bladder problem. It is an entire body problem. Your body was designed to move around. When it does not get enough movement, it will eventually rebel, leading to all kinds of physical problems.mizdageeragn, outerspacehillbilly, luvmyhubby and 4 others Thank this. -
Joan Claybrook says
Gentlemen , this is the rationality that keeps the HOS in turmoil tying up the FMCSA and the courts .
To us older folks Claybrook is best know for being responsible for the deaths of women and children killed by the airbags she mandate installed despite tests proving they were dangerous to smaller passengers .

The government refused to listen to manufacturer warnings .
Off topic ? Not really . I shows "safety experts" like Claybrookare actually clueless about safety .
Can a driver drive 11 hours straight ? Can you have a proper place to park appear after driving 10 hours and 55 minutes ? -
Or it has been on the occasions I did it knowing where and when I would be stopping.
