Exactly right. I have done it a few times and man did I pay the price the next day! run about 200 miles the next day and can't set any longer. It's not good on you at all. Now I can run 6 or 7 hours stop and take 15 minutes or so and be good to go for another 6 or 7 er I mean 4 or 5.

Can you, legally, drive 11 hours in a row.

As a Skateboarder driving 11 straight hours every day is impossible......
The days I load and unload are a wash......I run out of duty hours before I run out of driving hours period....And as we all know shippers and receivers are all very efficient in the loading and unloading process....... -

I have done that run like that when it was a hot load twice. There are no scales to cross and lucky that dot was not around. Also, the speed limit is not a problem, because I can make up for the slower times. -
When I was in truck driving school and being taught how to read an atlas, trip plan and log, they would give us fictious runs, like from Omaha NE to Bradley FL, to Nashville TN to Cresent IA. We had to log it all, and for the assignment all weight stations were open and logged for .25 (15 min). It was frustrating because we had to log a 15 min tire check every 3 hrs or 150 miles. So, you would find yourself stopping for a 15 minute tire check, then driving (fictiously) for 30 mintes and pulling into a weight station.
Well, when I got out on the road we didn't do that, there was no way we would pull off every 150 miles just to do a tire check, especially if we knew the weight station just another 30 minutes down the road was open. However, I wasn't trained to just drive non-stop. That doesn't always make much sence either, what would be the point of drivig non-stop and get to the shippers at 4 am only to have to wait untl the open at 7am. So I was taught to effectively trip plan, some trips offer and require more breaks to be where I want to be when I want to be there, and there are those that allow for few breaks to be where I need to be when I need to be there.
I was also taught not to ruin myself, if the only way for me to make a run was to drive a straight 11, I wasn't leaving any wiggle room, and that was stupid. We have all heard stories about how a driver was late with a load because a traffic jam, truck problem or construction route, whatever. I was told, that my job as a professonal was to plan ahead and be on time. My company does not allow excuses. If I accept load, I better get in there on time, if I was stupid enough not to allow wiggle room, it is my fault. I have learned the importance of wiggle room, I had a run that I accepted with little wiggle room, encounterd a re-route due to the highway being closed because of an accident, and I got there just in the nick of time.
Anway, I value my life and my job with my company too much to do that again.
Besides, I would hate to have an accident after 10 hours of driving and wondering, perhaps even knowing, that a 10-15 minute break would of made the difference between being in an accident or not. -

Speed 10 miles over the limit. Stop at rest areas every 4 hours or so. Do not log those stops. That will lower your speed to the limit. Your legs do need to move every once in a while. Helps reduce the chance of blood clots, which can lead to a stroke or heart attack. Can you drive 11 straight? Absolutely. Do I recommend it? No way.
