I've never actually had anything said to me about logging load checks. I don't log them at all. Never have.
Can you, legally, drive 11 hours in a row.

What load checks?None are specified that I know of since the new mandates came down.
You can drive 11 but to what end?Legal yes, safe probably not, healthy not. Load has to be there,Lack of planning on others part in no way constitutes an emergency on mineProtecting my health and sanity far outweighs whatever supposed "hot load" they contrive. If I do not have the time to run load and take a break I just inform dispatch prior to accepting it.What they plan after that varies from handing it off to a change in appointments,or a different load.

Regs changed,no longer a requirement.Someone decided having haz-mat loads stopping all the time made them vulnerable.I'll have to look up new language but it basically states "Observe load for leaks during normal activities suach as loading, pre trip, post trip inspections.Or that is what the log guru we had come in stated. -

Company policy seldom has anything to do with law, or even real safety for that matter. It does, however, have quite a bit to do with retaining employment. -
And I would state that we (as drivers) should check on tires,load,brakes... every so often. And yeah alot of companies still have the policy in place despite the Feds changing the reg.
It is always good to get out and do a walk around.Springs break(holding airlines on trailer) tires leak, lights blow(better you find it than the scale), ...........
That was part of my original statement yes you can do 11 straight, but to what end?
700 +/- miles without looking your equipment over is risky in my opinion. -
Loaded I always find a place to stop and check my load...and flag it...Usually around 6 hours or 300 miles...whichever comes first...
Deadheading...You have to take a pit stop some time....
