Can you live out of a van at a truck stop?

Why not just go OTR and live out of the truck?

 

Kinda harsh?

I mean.... who doesn't hate trucking... it may be a love/hate relationship but still.

I'd live out of a van down by the river if I wasn't a greedy capitalist pig.

 

Yeah Cotton, I was kinda harsh, but today was one of those days that brokers were offering loads as low as .93 per mile on my dry van side, $1.35 per mile on the hopper side. Maybe he just got tired of working at a firm that kept forcing him to lie and try and sell crap to truckers. Maybe he is a failed trucker and broker, I don't know and really don't care. He is talking about living in a van outside of truckstops, if he wants to live off the land then ok, he would have my respect. But he is basically talking about being one of those guys and you know what I am talking about that are sleeping in their vehicle outside the truck stop and then end up hitting us up for money. The only reason he is going to California vs Texas is because Texas does not give away free crap normally to able bodied individuals. So yes I was harsh.

 

Sorry to hear about the rates. I've been off the road and have no idea what they look like lately.

idk, he just might change his nic to brokertodriver.. it's diffacult to beat the cheap office space and environment and its fairly busy where he's headed.
