Depends on the state of course. In Michigan it really blows getting a divorce. She can take the pre-marital assets too. Plus alimony.

There has to be more to the story like he spent all his time with that car and never with her (In her mind anyway)

Just get a bid from three dealers on the value of the equipment; she gets half of the high bid. In today’s market, that won’t be squat. Let her have that value in other assets, like An increased share in 401K’s or house equity. You keep trucking, she hits the road.

    Again, depends on state.

Some yes, some no, most it depends on when the business was started and how much the business makes while married. In most cases though it's not so much loosing the business, it's coming up with whatever value the courts say she's owed. If one can manage that without selling the business all well and good. If not....

Every state is going to be different...it does make matter.
    I would suggest three options:
    1. Split everything 50/50.....assets and debts and then move on
    2. Move to a “no fault” divorce state....Michigan comes to mind.
    3. Sell your equipment cheap to somebody you trust that is not a family member.....basically get rid of your assets until you are through the divorce and then buy the equipment back.

To the OP like said before...it can differ depending on the state. That said...on to the fun and games:
