I made whatever my boss paid me in cash for the working year each week. I really did not care how much or how little he paid me because the income was sufficient to thrive and be wealthy for the station in life I was in at that time into the early 30's It was by the hour, but we worked so hard from the time day rise got bright enough to see until it got too dark to see. When chain season came up in October we got sent to unemployment for several hundred a week to sit home, stay fit warm and ready to work next spring.
The several years Ive deal with dump trucks, trailers etc for paving and associated work I look back on as the best time of my life. Ever. Im pretty sure that super 500 mack with it's 15 forward and 15 reverse is still on the farm ready to go if I wanted to get into it and work. But there is the problem of my spine versus the 10 ton of blacktop that has to be shoveled very fast once dumped. There was a time I could move that in 15 minutes. Im not that man today. Age is a enemy.
Can you make good $ driving a dump truck?
