Do you use the AC inverter for your cooktop or do you have a cooktop with a DC cigarette socket plug? I tried searching Amazon and all of the cooktops appear to be AC powered but I came across a DC one but cannot find it anymore. I fry most of my food and I plan to get the oven too but the fryer is more important for eggs, grilled cheese, pancakes, etc.

I used to use an electic skittle. Westbend makes a good one, they sell it at Walmart. Most basic inverters will power it easy, it just can get smelly & smokey. Its hard to keep clean. Get away from that fried food!!

I've been living (full-time) in first a 13' camper, then a 26' rv and now a 36' rv for the past 14 years and can tell you that rv sites are great places to look for 12v appliances. Just Google "12 volt appliances" and have at it. The 12v stuff can be slower to get to temperature sometimes but is wicked convenient as it's usually smaller, and it's easier and safer to repair yourself.
    Just my two cents...

It's AC but I've got one of the small George Foreman grills. It's a pain to clean, but it sure is nice to have fresh cooked food without paying rest. prices. I've also have the Burton pizza oven which is 12v. It is great for a variety of things, basically it's a 12v toaster oven and can be used as such.

Yeah I have a george foreman grill and I never use it because of the cleaning. I only bought one since everyone hypes it up. To be honest I couldn't see the difference in the way food cooks since I could easily just flip the food over and let it cook both sides and when I am done I throw the pan in the sink or dishwasher to easily wash. In fact I may sell my grill, I only keep it because it looks cool and matches my other stainless steel appliances.

If your looking for a range top I would suggest an Induction one. They don't get hot like the resistive type do. We've purchased two separate ones from Newegg and it has pretty much replaced our gas range top for cooking in pans. They also are much more energy efficient then the resistive types which equates to less drain on the battery. I've only seen ones that are 1500 watts so you'll need a decent inverter.

Yeah I looked at induction first but a search here revealed a topic where someone said not to use it for a truck.

George Foreman grills are easy to clean. Forget about using that little plastic thingy - just wad up a piece of paper towel, soak it in water and wipe down the grill plates while they're still hot. The water will turn into steam when it hits the hot grill and all the grease and residue just wipes away. Work fast and you can wipe down one side of the grill before that piece of towel gets too hot to hold. Take another piece, soak it and wipe down the other side of the grill. Then take a dry piece of towel and wipe off the remaining water stains.

That's the way restaurants clean their grills and it works great.
