I think you're right. Looks like I started refusing NE at a good time, that weigh station was my island of sanity.

They're also popping guys left, right and center wherever possible to dig those inspections in.
I'm amazed at how aggressive they've been lately. Really making me sweat. Can't wait to hop off this fleet, ODOT is gonna drill my boss a few new holes if they catch him.
Me too, if they catch me in the truck...And it's only a matter of time at this rate.

I have parked on the side of 76 twice , the one time I did get woken up . Then I explained that I stoped at two service areas that were parked full with guys in no parking zones and I didnt have a choice because i am out of hrs. The cop really didnt say much except for , make sure your gone by the morning , and keep your doors locked. ( keep your doors looked, lol )

Been there done that !!!!!! Never again......

    Literal chicken coups.
DOT officers hide in them, trying to catch us.
    It's a diversionary tactic.

I always thought chicken coups were spelled chicken coops. Cuz those little buildings used to look like chicken coops (you know, a hen house).

Whereas a coup is usually an overthrow of a government, sometimes violent, and a coupe is a two-door car.

Sorry about the grammar wankin, usually I just look past it but when damutt said he sleeps in a coup (a violent overthrow of a government), I just had to laugh.

I live in Florida and have stopped at almost all of the scales that allow parking. They don't make you pass over the scale when leaving because you've already passed over the static scale on the way in. If they are going to weigh you they give you the arrow when you first enter the scale and then you get weighed. You don't get weighed when you leave. Just don't park in the spaces right by the scale house. Those are reserved for you to park in to go inside the building when they want to see your permits, etc. I'm not sure about KY. I've never stopped and stayed in their scales.

I've heard all kinds of horror stories about the scales jacking with you in, different states, when stopping and parking in them and I'm sure some of them are true. Ohio and California stink for sure!!!! I've never had Florida bother me though and I've stopped at the scales a lot because the rest areas and truck stops were full. I'd say park and enjoy them. We pay enough on fuel taxes for them to be built. Might as well enjoy the parking lol!

If I ever do get bothered in them I'll update this post but as of now all the way back for 7 years Florida has never bothered me. :)
