In his math class the teacher gives the students 45 minutes to complete the math exam.
He finishes in 5 - 10 minutes and only writes the answers on the test paper.
The teacher thought he was cheating, so tested him in private, making sure he didn't have access to a watch calculator or something. He aced the private test by doing the calculations in his head. Now he's her favorite math student.G13Tomcat, tommymonza, FlaSwampRat and 2 others Thank this. -
Also once you have that answer which is 4, because 2 plus 2 is 4.
You then do the other part of the equation 8 divided by 2 is also 4.
Brackets means you multiple.
So 4 times 4 is 16.G13Tomcat, 88 Alpha, rabbiporkchop and 5 others Thank this. -

Drives me crazy when I take him grocery shopping. He scans the price tags with his eyes and looks at price per oz. or whatever and insists I make the best purchase, even if it only saves a few pennies.Attached Files:

So if you had (1+7) (2×10) 40-30=
You do the math question in the brackets first always.
So you really have 8, then 20, and lastly 10.
Then multiple 8 and 20 together is 160.
So now it is 160 times 10 = 1600.
