I have walked on the roof of a trailer already to trim a few branches but stay on the sides, you don't want to take a chance of falling thru. I also used a sawzall, instead of a chain saw.

Probably would be a lot safer and cheaper to rent a scissor lift.

It’s basically a rolling scaffold. I did a lot more dangerous stuff when I was a painter.

Three camera job..... one on the left side in case you fall off the left side.....
one on the right side in case you fall off the right side.....one inside to watch
    you come through the roof.....

It is very important to post a you tube video of the actual fall......please use
a good quality video so we can see exactly what went wrong.

This is a refer right. Let me know the date and time your going to do it. Precool the trailer for my beer. I'll be bringing some buddy's with. Will watch you work and drink beer. One of us will stay sober enough to call 911 if needed. Maybe

I rented a man lift from the rental shop in town for a $ 100.00 for the day and it would lift you 50 feet in the air. You could probally rent one cheaper if you only needed it for a couple hours. I used it to cut a tree down so thats an option.

Its a bit like standing on a roof you tread very carefully those roofs (reefer/ dry van) are not designed to take weight just to cover cargo.

I forgot to mention I can rent you a nice chainsaw that I just got. I tested it today, it cut through a 18 inch log without a problem.
