I as an experienced driver would find it insulting if a newb straight out of CDL school was making $80k.

I doubt any companies you can make that newby or not with all the laws.I would say it's impossible unless maybe you're driving for an outlaw company.

    Happens all the time.

Why does a pro football player make $20. mil a year and a teacher $32k.

    Just the way things are.

That is not a rational comparison. Totally different professions you mentioned. Even though I agree the sports players are grossly over paid. Back to the topic of trucking a newb with zero experience making $80k while a vet makes less than half of that. Yeah right.

its not worth it imo, youre going to work like a dog and lower your life expectancy, youre going to be living in horrible mancamp conditions without hometime and everything is insanely expensive... slightly better than selling yourself into slavery...

hopefully youre young and in good health, and actually save any money you make.

Work with guys who have been driving 6 months that made $82k last year.

It is not hard to do when you are working 90+ hours a week.

+ never going home while paying outrageous fees for shared housing in conditions that some homeless people would refuse to live in. +pricy food.
