I apologize if this is a repost, but my search did not come up with anything tha was close enough to my question.
MODS: If there is another thread, please point me to it and delete this one.
I have recently submitted an application, and was wondering what people thought of statement such as this on applications.
I understand that at any point in the future, whether I am actively employed by the Carrier or not, the Carrier may provide information concerning my employment and services with the Carrier to DAC SERVICES, INC. and any party that requests such information with a signed authorized release. I agree that said information may be furnished on my be-half without any liability or damages to the Carrier
Does this give employers a 'screw you over' loophole, or is it just more legalese?
Can your DAC information be changed despite NOT working for a company?

Yes you can correct info on your DAC.

DAC is a big "screwyouover" loophole
FYI, DAC was USIS, is now called HireRight

One good new thing about DAC which named has been changed to USIS whenever someone checks a driver's report that driver by law now recieves a notification from USIS who is checking on them.

As I understand it, employers are also allowed to mark up your DAC if, say, you're found to have lied on your application. So technically, I suppose they could mark up your DAC even if they never hired you in the first place.
That said, you can also dispute anything you find on your DAC, and from what I understand the burden is on the reporting company to prove their assertions.
Personally, I think DAC is a load of crap. Yeah, yeah, I get that truckers are supposed to be held to a higher standard because of the high risk involved in our conduct. I guess you could look at DAC as a sort of perverted analogue to the Medical Board, or the Bar Association -- an entity that polices our conduct even when we don't necessarily break the law.
But that's a subject for another time and place. Just get your report every year (it's free), and keep an eye on it.Big Don Thanks this.
