What does it take as far as credentials to drive from U.S. to Canadian Routes for Swift? I love Canada and Alaska, would love to make some trips there.

1. Passport. ( actually need it to get back into U.S.)
-
2. no felonies

Do you have to pass some background check and get a card or something? I have a clean background with Top Secret security clearance for the Navy.

I never cross the border with a truck, only my car, so I will let others answer that question

You just need to go apply at the Post Office and wait for your passport. Immigration (which I visited in Windsor once) will send you back over the bridge for felonies, or DUI. They stamped my paper and welcomed me to Canada. Customs is most concerned with cigs, booze et al. It's just a lot of paperwork and waiting in line. That said I like running up to Ontario & Québec. Hope to go to the western and Maritime provinces at some point. Hth.

All you need is a passport or passport card. If you don't intend to travel by air, you can get a passport card instead of a regular passport (passport card is cheaper).
If you have specific questions about driving in Canada, let me know. I have travelled extensively in Canada during my time at Swift. -
does swift pay extra for runs to CANADA for company drivers
scottied67 Thanks this.
