Canada: Ghost airport once set to become the world's largest - but was left to rot instead

I drive by there on the way to the in laws country house. They do cargo out of it now. They also do the refurbishment of the f18 there. It has a massive runway. It’s still a sore subject for folks up that way, lots of land was expropriated for it.
Filmed a few movies there before they demolished the terminal. It’s way too far from the city to be useful

 

30 minutes outside the city to the airport isn’t bad. Halifax is the same. Calgary is if you’re in the south. Toronto is from anywhere.

 

The distance isn’t so bad, it’s off the island is the bigger thing. Not as much access due to that more than actual distance

 

I used to deliver aluminum to Mecachrome right there on the north west corner of the airport. I don’t think I ever realized it was partially abandoned. I do remember seeing the air traffic tower as you pull up.

 

Way to far may have been poorly worded, more of a pain to get to than anything if during traffic times

 

I think bomdardier does final assembly and testing there on the regional and corporate jets as well

 

Are they an aerospace outfit? Gov have tried to push manufacturing up there for a bit
