I was told by HO Wolding that because I had a misdemeanor for bad checks (employer went bankrupt and forget to tell employees until our paychecks bounced) that was 22 years old, I couldn't get in to Canada. They wouldn't hire me.

If you weren't doing nothing, you wouldn't get into trouble.

Canada is really cleaning up their country and then some.

However, a bounced payroll check from 22 years ago was really NOT the fault of the person receiving it. It was the fault of the company issuing the bad checks.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

yes but unfortunately when you get a paycheck you write checks of your own to cover your bills....yeah those were the ones I was responsible for. 6 weeks worth of paychecks were bad so it took awhile for me to clean up the whole mess. I still keep all the paperwork from that fiasco to prove the situation to employers if needed. Never been an issue for my current career and I was surprised it may be an issue for driving.

As with the military, law enforcement, security work, high end security clearance jobs as that of a nuclear reactor technician, it is becoming more imperative that truck drivers have CLEAN records as far as work history and the law is concerned. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done with so many people. Life's circumstances often dictate otherwise.

From the looks of it, many trucking companies may also have to resort to a lot of, if not all, of Canada's strict standards as their own for all their employees.
