    When I figure out my deductions and fill in the total in the box. Why does the program my wife uses deduct more the 80 percent. Are we doing it right?

    Which program are you using? If you entered in your TD1 form into the program and claimed anything other than the basic amount, it can affect your deductions. The basic personal amount in 2018 is 11,809.
