I am retired, I lived with my family in both Alberta And B.C., had the pleasure of driving around the continent. I have met ignorance in all areas, and in all colors. I have found that if you want to talk to someone put out your hand and ask if there is a problem. I am a Mechanic, I dealt with truckers, that were going to be paying a lot of money to get their truck back on the road, and never had a problem with any of them. They are using the rules as they are, they use the same rules that are open to others. Religious groups have bent the rules for as long as I can remember. I to am predigest, I dislike freeloaders, and those that are easily led like sheep. Just a thought!

You chose the job,. you were paid,. the country is grateful.
So i could retain my freedom?
I think that was fought for a long time ago,.by my grandfather,..and i don't think it has been in jeopardy since,.but many have laid claim to the honour of defending my freedom, and are riding the coatails of those who actually fought.
I give you the respect you deserve for serving.

Your freedom might be in jeopardy. Ya never know, with all the Mexicans invading us here in the States, we gotta move somewhere. And Vancouver is lookin' pretty darned good. Then we can march down Canadian streets waving American flags and screaming about our rights. Ha Ha!

    Well said Phantom 309.

I think its understood by everyone that not all members of a particular race can be painted with the same brush. I respect and acknowledge the benefits many immigrants bring to this country, but there are certain aspects of this industry that you just cant ignore if you've been in it long enough. Ive only been driving 4 years, but that is MORE than enough time hauling containers in Vancouver to validate most of what Phantom has been saying.

These are real problems and they affect the livelyhood of all drivers on our roads, regardless of skin colour. Its too bad that these issues cant be discussed more thoroughly in the public light without certain members of our society getting their backs up and crying racism. Those people prefer to take the so-called "moral highroad" while turning their backs to whats going on right infront of their eyes. Political correctness has run rampant in North America, and i wonder at what point will people stop worrying about hurt feelings and start dealing with these issues because they pose a serious threat to the motoring public, and our society as a whole.

I'm not racist I hate everyone equally until I want to like you. Everyone says Canada and usa are an experiment in cultural mixing. It was done once before in a place called slovackia. The problem their en lies in policy politics and religion. Private schools creates separatism. Religion creates segregation and policy allows it to happen. If we all went to public schools with same curriculum and cultural awareness classes thus would reduce seperatism. Keep religion in our own homes prevents segregation. And shoot the politicians for the hell of it there useless Anyways like a old dog that can't see or hear.

Id like to congradulate this lady who was able to successfully bring Mr Tompkins to court.... Please tell the world how she did it?
No one else has been able to....and Im sure many would have liked to. In the twenty odd years Ive been a trucker Ive met few who could match the man for vulgarity and vehemence. She didnt get enough to pay for the tears and frustrations that man has meted out.
