Has anyone produced some kind of summary of the good and bad companies ?
Some sort of communal spreadsheet would be really helpful.
Hard to figure how it would work but something like a list of the companies mentioned here with people rating them 1 to 5 would be good.

Day and Ross is killing me. I signed on as an O/O last May and posted over $35K in losses in 2011. Most recently I was on the road 16 days and only moved 3300 miles. Trucks are stacking up in the terminals like cordwood. Nobody seems to know what's wrong, but guys are dropping like flies. I'll be leaving as soon as I figure out where to go.

Considering they said their company average is 2800 miles/week there is obviously something wrong here.

That's probably what the company owned trucks average, they'd feed them first.

As far as I know, there are no company owned trucks besides daycabs and shunters. If they're getting 2800 miles per week, I think I can see where the problem is....

I would be leery of working for any company that hangs a HELP WANTED shingle on the back of everyone of their trailers. That's is a clear sign of large employee turnover. You see the same companies for 25 year advertising in the trucking rags how they need drivers.. Just talk to their HRDC man" Hired 10 drivers this week and 11 quit!
If a company is worth working for word gets around and they will have a file of reliable experienced drivers waiting to get on the roster.

The sad thing is the recruiter and I had been friends for about 6 years before I even went to "Days Lost". We haven't spoken now in over 3 months (mostly because he changed his phone number).
