I have an ontario permit. First time to run in ontario. Can anyone tell me what the abbreviation "MUN" stands for in the route? Is it municipal?
The route is 405, QEW, MUN.
Going from Lewiston, NY to Hamilton, ON.
Canadian permit

It does stand for municipal. Depending on the town they may require you get a seperate permit just for their town. Some required just a phone call to tell them you are coming.

The MTO permits cover the Kings Highways. Like the 405 and QEW. Once you are off the Kings Highways it drops down to County level permits. Each county has their own permits and rules to follow

How big are you? Unless getting real heavy or big, its not often we'll get municipal permits. However, we usually get annuals in the places that would bother you. Hamilton isn't bad, especially if you're on a truck route.

You need a Municipal this time of year because of the spring weight/load restrictions on most back roads and parts of secondary highways I reckon

Taking a 90k pound mill roll to US Steel in Nanticoke, ON. Seems like it's a straight forward route. Still waiting on permits for the Peace Bridge.
