that would have been my thought as well.

but trying the steps leading up to replacement, is/was a good idea.

Take the strap off and remove adjusting bolt entirely, maybe it’s just the bolt itself seized, replace whole bolt, if necessary.

I personally wouldnt spray anything on the clutch for fear that the blaster or whatever you spray would make it's way to the disc or friction surface and cause more problems than would be gained.

Pin the engine if you can. Get a longer ratchet and give her gusto. If the adjuster breaks or strips its clutch time.

Remove the adjuster and turn the adjusting opening to about 9 or 10 O clock.
Get a pry bar that has about a 30 degree bend on the end. That is the middle size in many sets with plastic handles and maybe 22 inches long. Get the handle off of it. Then grind the end of it to match a air chisel bit. Turn the curve at the end toward the drivers side and go for it.
Get glasses and a mask. No Harbor Freight wussie air hammers.
You know this is go for broke. Do not try this when you are scheduled to work.

Diesel Dave, xsetra, stonefly4 and 2 others Thank this.

they can be tuff. At one point i had to put my socket wrench on there and pot a crow bar on the back side of the wrench. While moving the wrench back and forth a put good pressure on prybar and she pushed in. So if you having problems, try that. After adjustment, make sure the bolt pops back out or youll be back under there adjusting again.
Also, a little tip, You DO NOT need an assistant. 2x4 against clutch pedal and against seat will hold clutch in far enought to make adjustment. Clutch does not need to be against the floor to make adjustment. Just needs to be enough off the flywheel to make adjustment
