Ever notice the number of posts of people that have never driven a truck, have read thousands upon thousands of crybaby posts from company drivers, and want to skip pass all of this and become an owner op?

"Hmmm, a truck isn't as expensive as I thought...I see a used Volvo for $7500. I could buy that with the money MeMaw willed me. Then I wouldnt have to do the company truck circus, and I could make the big bucks!"

Field of Dreams -If I buy it, the money will come!

How unrealistic is this? It's like buying an EasyBakeOven, putting it into a building you're renting and starting a bakery. Not impossible, but it would be so much easier to
    1. know how to bake
    2. know what kind of equipment you need in your bakery
    3. know the business end of a bakery
    4. having strong work ethic, because that's going to be a struggle

    (story time)
Had a friend whose father gave him $100k to start a coffee shop. He got a building, the coffees and pastries and opened shop. It was a MAJOR hit as it was the only coffee shop in the downtown area. Customers lined up around the block every single morning. However, after a couple months, my friend shut the place down, because he didn't like getting up early.

If you don't have apportioned plates (and you shouldn't if you're not running it), then you should be able to register it as an RV and put it on your personal auto policy for now.

Hahahaha buy one of each. Just to be safe.

I’ve hit 2 deer in the past 32 years. Only damage ever done, water faucet broke as the deer went under the cab.

You see correct, water faucet. Shop had it installed in the bottom radiator line. To make it easier to drain. And drain it did.

Cat used them on heavy equipment for the oil drain... :tard:
They would, on rare occasion, work themselves open from the vibrations.

It's a good thing dozers go backwards enough to see it before it can cause a problem.... But on a truck, umm... no thanks.

    Lots of truth there six.

My latest purchase is from a partnership that didn't quite work out. They actually posted on this site asking questions and got a lot of "haters" so they went out and got a couple trucks. Lasted 11 months and it went into the crapper. I got a call from their lender who tracked me down through my go to lenders and bought two trucks for a lot less than they paid ... the lender gave them the choice get it repo'd or they will find a buyer for them and work a deal and accept it no matter what.

11 months, that was it, they went through four drivers, the trucks produced -$1.10 a mile ..... yes negative $1.10 a mile and have hardly any miles, hell I don't think they have two oil changes on each of them.

People don't listen, they think that they can make it and really can't.

You can read their thoughts, "You all are just dumb truck drivers, and so I not being dumb, shall have an advantage. If you dummies can be owner ops, I should make a fortune!"

I always get these drivers that come up to me after I pull into a parkinglot and they ask about OSOW and heavyhaul. I pulled this windblade into a truckstop and a guy asked me about it. He asked me if I owned the trailer and I told him that trailer was half a million dollars. I pull multiple trailers ranging from $100k to $500k...why should I buy them?

    "Well, I'm not afraid..."

Yep. Talked to me for 5 minutes and you already think that you know more than I do. How enlightening!

    "You...you're an A Hole!"

    Yes I am.
