Can't believe the questions I read....

Same here, new bumpers are deer magnets for me. Had truck painted and new bumper. Started driving it first of the year and I've hit 2 deer this year. First one didn't do any damage so there had to be second. It tweaked bumper and grill shell. You have to look fairly close to see it but definitely can see it. I hope by not fixing replacing I will go many years.

 

Back during the ‘08 slowdown, I became friends with the local bank repo man. I was buying repos for less than half of retail and flipping them. Made a fortune. In the paperwork the bank gave you to transfer title, it would tell what was owed against the truck. Every one of them I bought for 10s of thousands less than what was owed. The bank would then go after them for the difference.

As luck would have it, the repo man I dealt with had a secret life. Come to find out, he had a special room in a hotel the bank repoed that he would have “hook ups”. Got caught there with another man’s wife and took a bullet to the head. That was the end of the repo deals.

 

The irony(?) is I'm a new driver and own a reliable and legal tractor and trailer(paid cash, haven't plated or done LLC and DOT/MC/ICC etc..). I was told you can't even get loads off DAT or UberFreight without a decent CSA score no matter how much your insurance policy covers..

Who needs Dat or Uber? You’ll get Loads 90 % of time or more. I’ve only been turned down 3 or 4 times in the beginning 14 yrs ago. I in turn never haul for them currently on Load # 1723 successfully delivered. Don’t let the nay sayers discourage you. Others did it so can you.

 

I blame a lot of that on reality TV, the competition mentality.

I had a driver hook me up with a company within of few miles from my house. I would have eventually seen it. But it was nice of him to do it.

I can’t pull all their freight, and neither can he.

We both win. I’ll most certainly return the favor.
