Trying to decide between Eagle Transportation LLC in Tucson AZ or Navajo Express?

One is dry the other reefer. Eagle is a contractor for Werner so they operate under the same umbrella. Any suggestions?

If your driving for a contractor are you paid under a 1099 or a w2. It's a big difference. 1099 may pay your a little more but you are responsible for all the taxes. It may be a good deal "if" the pay rate is high enough to cover all your taxes. Also look at what the benefits are.

Navajo uses United health. Eagle is BC/BS but I think it's through Werner. Heard the pay at Eagle is low but Navajo is about the same for reefer. I read Eagle put you down as an owner/op but you're paid like a company driver. They have dollar tree or office max accounts at Eagle and I'm sure other dry freight but little info out there. Recruiter has been nice though. Quite a small company but they let you use Werner facilities and trucks (tho the trucks look older than Werner's own fleet).

Good question. No idea. The pay is the same as Western Express, Swift, Schneider. That sort of thing but a recent review of Navajo said they pay less than Swift. lol. So #### confusing.

Don't rule out Swift. Simply put, don't believe what you hear/read from people who don't currently work for them. Several years ago, they were at the bottom of the pile; a position held at various times by JB Hunt, Prime, Schneider, and currently CR England, who appears to be working hard to keep that spot...

I started at Swift right out of school, with the intention of staying the six months needed to go to a "real" company as an experienced driver. That was over four years ago, and I'm still a happy Swift company driver.

FYI, Swift has a terminal in Richmond.

Yea, you're probably lucky number 1 out of every 1000 drivers, avoid Swift for obvious reasons, OP.
