    Us Express said to bing my cdl and social to orientation. I cant find my social. Can i bring another form of id? i have my birth certificate, w2s, voter card, military id

    Go to the SS office apply for another one and they will give you a paper stating such with your SS# on it. Call USX and ask them if this will be acceptable...in most cases it is.

    You are required to carry a social security card as a commercial driver.

    I think the requirements for employment dictate you show the SS card and one other form of acceptable identification. I don't think anything trumps a SS card. Call USX and explain the situation....it won't be the first time they answered this question.

    really? i had no idea. Thats kinda ridiculous. I mean i have my cdl on me, my military id on me and my voter registration card on me.

    I dealt with this a lot when hiring people in a high turnover industry much like trucking. Ha...I used to lose them a lot...now I have two SS cards.

    It's not surprising that a state agency might tell people to carry it with you as they did with RM. But, the Social Security Administration warns people not to carry it:
