In my opinion, Fisher is right. We have all learned the hard way out here. But, we r still here and doing well. Thats because we learned how to weather the bumps and bruises. We are all adults...shouldnt need anyone holding ur hand to fix the bad things like mommy and daddy. Man up and move on like fisher said. And Condo...the op still hasnt given the WHOLE story bout the damage. The driver might have damaged the truck in a parking lot or something in that manner. The owner might have done the driver a favor and not report it and paid for it. That way insurance dont go up for owner OR driver, and driver could get points on his CDL. And if that is the case, then he should be thanking the owner for not reporting it. There is ALWAYS 2 sides to EVERY story. Just my 2 cents worth. Be safe out there drivers.

Seems to be a lot of the puzzle missing.... nonetheless if you are a company driver and do not own the truck then you shouldn't be responsible for damages unless stated in your company handbook and specifically what your part is.
Even though you may have been at fault the owner has insurance for a reason. Some companies will make you pay the deductible though very few. Could you imagine if Swift or Werner did this? Nobody would ever get a paycheck!
Maybe give us the whole situation and we can help you out better.hotrod1018 Thanks this. -

How much damage vs your last trip? Just curious.
-
That's what some owners do when they find out you don't want to drive for them no more.
They look for a reason not to pay you for the last trip, suddenly remembering all the incidents. -
In your very first post you said the owner was "claiming" damage to the truck so did you damage it or not? What was the damage? Like 77 asked how much was the damage vs. what you are owed? Is 100% $100.00 or $5000.00? Someone asked if there was anything in a "handbook" about you paying for damage or did you have a verbal agreement saying so, or not? I don't know what your gonna do, but I'm gonna grab a beer and watch an episode of Gunsmoke. Good luck.

All this, and STILL no explanation of what was damaged, how it happened, and the cost to repair.
