Wish I knew how to thank posts! I joined just to reply.
He hasn't been back since making the post; hopefully others will realize there is more to hauling cars then buying some trucks & hiring a few drivers. Seems like everyone wants to haul cars these days.

He probably died of a heart attach when he found out what the insurance costs. -
I want to get into car hauling. I was wandering the best way to do so. I have some wrecker exp. and drive a dry van now. I want to know if I need to go to a flat bed company first or are there companies that hire and train?
-
why would you drive a flat bed truck If you wanna haul cars? Im sure you can find someone willing to train you most want at least 2yrs because of insurance rates and damage newbs will do to cars

I dont no if that would help tying down cars is not the same as say pipes on a FB ..... The only thing I can think of that it would help... is they would know you dont mind working rather then just bumping docks... Teaching someone to tie down cars is the easy part teaching them how to load so they fit and do it with no damage is the hard part..

If you have no experience hauling cars i would not recommend buying a truck and hiring a driver. That's a good way to loose your shirt. If you are a truck driver with experience, then hire on as a company driver with a good auto transport company that will train you. This way you can see if it is something you really want to do.
jbatmick Thanks this. -
Most of the time, car haulers paid by percentage of what they made. I was started with 25% and six months later raised to 30%.
My company is hiring newbies and willing to train. Let me know guys you need the information. -
like to know about your company
