Impossible. Is CARB going to drive around to every warehouse in the State of California and check shipping documents on every LTL that ever moves?
Carb forced me out of Calif.

CHP and DOT have nothing to do with enforcing CARB compliance other than allowing CARB officers to set up on state owned property (scale houses). CHP officers at Banning and Conejo said they have no training and no authority to enforce CARB.areelius Thanks this. -
If they keep extending and making allowances, it makes fools of the poor guys who spent their hard earned money to comply with all this nonsense. The rules and regulations will never end in states run by liberal minds. They live to make more and more laws just to frustrate the people who try to work for a living. I don't care anymore how many extensions they give me. I am moving my business out of the state, and letting Calif. suffer the lack of taxes and fees I will now pay to a state that wants my business and the money they get from it. California wanted to set an example for other states to follow, now those states know what not to do.

I was reading something about CARB allowing non-compliant trucks to run a few thousand miles per year in CA.
Also, saw something about allowing non-compliant trucks to continue to operate if the owner intends to make the truck compliant.
That ought to help prevent a rate spike for CA freight. -
As far as moving out of state, better go a lot farther. Ever hear of a little thing call supply and demand? There is going to be a huge supply of non-compliant trucks and very little demand.areelius and daf105paccar Thank this. -
I may have to park till april now. crap. -
nothing new here. those who can adapt will survive and prosper.
others who cannot afford even a down payment on a carb compliant truck did something wrong.
most likely their cost per mile did not include the funds to replace the equipment and they were running too cheap.
also air pollution is not a myth it's a reality.
like smog in major cities in China.
finally , yes I can see how someone could like hoods.
but it's not a truck show its business. there is a big difference between 5.5 miles per gallon and 9 miles per gallon . latest models of trucks are capable of that kind of fuel economy and reliability is less of a concern compared to just a few years ago.daf105paccar Thanks this. -
Like other posters said "get CA compliant", all bad CA rules become national, then other countries do it. I have no love for CA rules and regs, but 10+/- years that will be the law of the land.
IMHO any company not making a profit now, will not make one in the future. Working at a loss is either a 'plan' or a 'losers game', know where you stand or plan to fall.Gearjammin' Penguin Thanks this. -

I can't wait to see how much money California will lose on IRP and other truck fees. That doesn't include lost IFTA, sales tax, etc., It may take a few months for them to realize the loss of revenue. These new so called compliant trucks are in the shop more than on the road. You can't make money sitting waiting on your truck to be repaired. One friend of mine was at a Freightliner dealership earlier this year and said that about 95% of the trucks that were in their shop was there due to the DEF and other problems with these compliant trucks. All that just so that you can run in ONE state. NO THANKS!!!
areelius Thanks this.
